This is how I recommend my clients take care of the tattoos I’ve done for them.

Keep your tattoo covered for a minimum of three hours after it’s done. Remove bandage carefully and gently wash with warm water. You can use scent and colour free soap if desired. When washing and drying, always PAT your tattoo. No rubbing! Do not re-cover your tattoo. It needs air!

Repeat the washing and drying process for the next two days or until your tattoo is nice and dry and no longer an open wound. Usually two to three days is enough.

Once your tattoo feels nice and dry you can begin using your after care product. Keeping your tattoo moisturized will speed the healing process and keep you a lot more comfortable as you go through the itchy phase! Do not EVER peel, scratch, or pick at your new tattoo! You can apply the after care product any time your tattoo feels dry.

Until your tattoo is completely healed, do not immerse it in any chlorinated water or subject your new tattoo to direct sunlight. Wait a minimum of four weeks. Yes, this means no hot-tubbing or tanning!
